01/02/25 Blog Post One: How In the hell did I get here…
It all begins with an idea.
How in the hell did I get here? Have you ever asked yourself that question? I ask it about 50 times a day, usually adding extra colorful language around the “hell” part. I love where I am at…it was the journey that brought me here that I could have done without. You see, I should be writing this blog and launching this business from my own beautiful lavender farm with the man that I thought was my soulmate. That story is for another time. Instead, I am launching this business from my beautiful home (partially courtesy of the “soulmate” and living in a state that honors common law marriage and therefore common law divorce settlements) surrounded by numerous flower beds (yes, there is lavender) and my “roommates” (4 chickens, 3 dogs and 2 cats) 5 of which are also courtesy of that “soulmate” person. We have a good life in a small town, where in the 3 years that I have been here I have managed to rebuild my life, rebuild myself and relearn to enjoy life.

They say that the journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. My first step was onto a little lavender farm tucked in the hills of Iowa. That farm was truly my first love. If you know anything about first loves, they break your heart in the worst way. More on that later…

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
